Last week I was getting a facial. Jamie wanted to try something, because she is very cautious with my skin. She was discussing my eczema and at some point in the conversation I said “It’s the healer in you”. It brought back a fact that I had learned in a course I had taken years ago. Your healing can come from anyone.
Healing takes many forms. We usually think of it as affecting the physical body. In HolisticHealth healing encompasses mind, body and soul. Many people consider healers as professionals trained in a specific field. But the reality is that we are all capable of being healers. A kind word can shift someone’s perspective. A helpful gesture can give a stranger the feeling that someone cares. A prayer for someone can give them spiritual comfort. Giving your time to volunteer.
These positive actions can aid in a positive attitude which in turn helps the physical.
Each of us has that ability to shed some light into a dark situation. That’s why we talk to our friends when we are upset. When we reach out in others time of need we are performing an act of healing. I am sure you have experienced both sides of this situation. It is a win win scenario whether your friend says “Things aren’t as bad as I thought” or they are the ones that help you come to that same realization.
Everyday we see reports of people who perform act of kindness to strangers and how item powers the recipient. We are all capable of affecting others around us. So the next time you are given an opportunity to reach out to someone, remember the healer in you, and shed your light into the world.
